According to the same Statista survey, most U.S. consumers spent between 250 and 499 U.S. dollars on their washing machines. When asked about which brands they would consider when buying a wash machine, the results correlate with the market share results: 63 percent of the respondents said they would consider Whirlpool, while 58 and 46 percent of them would consider Maytag and GE respectively. Most U.S. consumers were satisfied with their current washing machine – only six percent of them were somewhat or completely dissatisfied with their washer.
U.S. home appliance market
In 2017, the shipments of automatic washers amounted to 9.95 million units in the United States. Including also electric and gas dryers, home laundry appliances is the second largest home appliance category in the United States, following cooking appliances. Other home appliance devices include dishwashers, fridges, air conditioners, etc.
